Maungaturoto Physio Senior Fit exercise class is a physio led full body workout targeting balance, strengthening and mobility.

Our classes are held at the Maungaturoto country club every Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 9.30am. We are looking to add an evening class in the future also. Classes are run by our physios, Caitlyn and Aimee.

Please arrive 5-10 mins early. Bring with you a water bottle, small towel and shoes suitable for exercising in. 

Access to the class is either via the wheelchair ramp at the far end of the country club carpark or the last stairwell. 

The class is normally set up in a circuit type format with stations and depending on numbers you will likely work in pairs or threes making your way around the different exercises. The stations are a combination of light weights, balance, exercise bands and body movement exercises. They are suitable for all levels of fitness,  as we modify the exercises if needed and you can work at your own pace. We have people coming along post stroke, post shoulder surgery or with knee arthritis etc and some have no health conditions at all but just want to keep fit. 

Exercises range from bicep curls to squats - it’s a whole body workout. Normally there are 10 different exercises that you will do for one minute each and repeat twice. 

Total duration for the morning is about 40-45 mins with a warm up and cool down included.
